Calgary Drop-In & Rehab Centre (the DI) | Pipella Law | Calgary Personal Injury Lawyers

The Pipella Law Team—never content to sit on the sidelines when there’s work to be done—has been rolling up its sleeves and pitching in at the Calgary Drop-In Centre with many other volunteers. In addition to being one of many sponsors for the 5th annual Spaghetti and 8-Ball charity pool tournament in April 2018, (which raised more than $7,000 in support of hot meal programs for Calgarians experiencing homelessness), some members of the Pipella Law team have been volunteering their time to help serve nutritious breakfasts to those in need.

Calgary Drop-In: Rooted in Community and Fueled by Kindness

Serving the city for over 55 years, “Calgary Drop-In & Rehab Centre (the DI) has delivered emergency shelter, health services, community resources and housing supports, to people either experiencing or at risk of homelessness.” Regardless of whether or not those in need are housed or unhoused, “the DI” is open to care for the community’s most vulnerable; the time and resources donated to the “the DI” support services that include (but are not limited to):

  • Free shelter service, accessible 365 days a year;
  • Core primary health care services;
  • Counselling and support services;
  • Employment and education initiatives;
  • Specialized care programs for seniors; and
  • Assistance with affordable housing.

Pipella Law: Proud to Support “The DI”

Just as the volunteers and professionals of “the DI” work tirelessly to assist Calgarians experiencing homelessness, Pipella Law works to ensure that those injured by the negligence, or actions of others are financially compensated.

Strong community support can ease the burden which poverty places upon Calgary—and let those experiencing homelessness access the services, programs, and strategies they need to live with dignity.

As tireless advocates for the community both in, and out of, the courtroom, Pipella Law is proud to support “the DI,” through both direct volunteering and the Spaghetti and 8-Ball charity pool tournament.
